HOW TO REFILL THE INK CARTRIDGES
The ink cartridge refilling procedure is given in step by step manner. To refill the ink cartridges for your HP Deskjet 1010 printer when it goes low or empty, do as per the steps are given below accordingly
Step 1: First open the ink cartridge access door and take out the ink cartridge that is empty or low. Then close the ink cartridge access door correctly. Now you have to take the ink bottle and a needle to refill the ink cartridges.
Step 2: Also have a hand towel, as while filling the cartridges the ink might leak. Now, take the ink bottle in your hand and remove the cap from it. Then pull the seal tab off and replace the ink bottle cap.
Step 3: Then flip open the lid of the ink bottle. You can use a 1ml disposable syringe to refill the ink cartridges. Use a smaller needle, so that you can refill the ink into the ink cartridges easily without any leakage.
Step 4: Now, take the empty ink cartridge and locate the black spot on the cartridge. There will be a white sticker covering the black spot on the top of the cartridge. You can find a hole under the black spot.
Step 5: Through that hole, the ink is refilled into the ink cartridge. So, you can peel off the white sticker to locate the hole or you can simply pierce the black spot with a fine needle. Now, take the syringe.
Step 6: Slowly draw the ink into the syringe. Do not be very fast while drawing the ink into the syringe, as it may create air-gaps inside the syringe. These air-gaps which are created may actually block your ink cartridge.
Step 7: So, make sure there are no air bubbles in the syringe before you attempt to refill the ink into the cartridge through the hole. Have a hand towel, as while refilling the ink cartridge, ink might get on hand.
Step 8: Now, take the syringe and inject it into the hole. Do not attempt to refill the ink, as it might result in the ink leakage. Try to fill the cartridge till the near capacity, so that ink can be prevented from leaking.
Step 9: Once the cartridge is filled till the suggested volume, it should be allowed to set for a few hours. Doing this, lets the ink to settle at the bottom of the sponge, which is present inside the cartridge and cannot be seen.
Step 10: Now, open the ink cartridge access door and install the ink cartridge into its slot properly and then close the ink cartridge access door. Then try to print test pages to check if there is an issue with printing.
