How to install Hp OfficeJet 2620

  • In order to install the HP OfficeJet 2620, you need to unbox the printer, remove the packaging material, insert the cartridge, and set the trays. It is recommended that you recycle the packaging material to protect the environment.
  • Take out the printer from the plastic cover, and then peel all the packing tape from the front and the back of the OfficeJet 2620. Place the printer on a stable and sturdy surface.
  • Open the output tray, pull the cartridge access door, and then peel all of the tape and remove all packing material from the interior of the printer. Shut the cartridge access door.
  • Peel the sticker from the control panel, if you find one. Fix the power module cord to the back of the printer, attach the power cord to the power module, and then fix the other end of the power cord to the wall outlet.
  • Push the power button on printer. Wait for the printer to turn inactive and quiet before you proceed. During the first time the printer powers up, it will ask you to choose your language and region. Use the down arrow to navigate to your desired language.

  • Lift the input tray. Draw out the output tray and pull out the tray extender. Move the paper width guides to their respective ends. Place a stack of U.S letter or A4 plain, white paper into the input tray, and then move the paper widths in until they recline against the edge of the sheets.
  • Choose OK, and then follow the prompts on the control panel to begin the cartridge alignment. The printer aligns the cartridges and print an alignment page. Follow the instruction on the alignment page to complete aligning the cartridges.

Replacing ink cartridges

If you wish to replace the ink cartridges, follow the instructions below:

  • Push the Power button to switch on the printer, if it is not already switched on. Place unused white paper into the input tray. Draw out the cartridge access door.
  • The carriage shifts to the middle of the printer. Pause until the printer is quiet and inactive before proceeding. Gently push down the cartridge to release it, and then take the cartridge out to remove it from its slot.
  • Unpack the new cartridge, and then peel the orange tab to eliminate the plastic tape.
  • Grab the cartridge by its sides with the nozzles facing the printer, and then place the cartridge into its slot. Ensure that the cartridge is placed in its dedicated slot.
  • The tri-color cartridge and the black cartridge are placed on the left and right side respectively. Press the cartridge forward into its slot until its sits in its position.
  • Repeat the process to replace the other cartridge, if necessary. Shut the cartridge access door. The message, ‘Load plain white paper’ pops up on the control panel display. If the paper is already placed, select OK. The alignment page prints.
  • Put the alignment page with the print side facing down in the scanner glass. Place it in the right-front corner. Follow the inscribed guides near the scanner glass for placing the alignment page.
  • Lower the scanner lid, and then push OK on the control panel. The printer scans the alignment page. After the alignment finishes, press OK to continue.

Not Printing Issues

Your printer may not print documents, if they are stuck in the print queue.

Windows

  • For Windows Users: In case are working with a file or have a file open in the application you are printing from, store your work. Your current print jobs will be erased and will need to printed again later.
  • Choose the Windows icon or press Win key + S on your keyboard. Search for services.msc in the search box and push the enter key. Choose Print Spooler from the services list. Choose Restart the service or click the restart button. If this does not resolve the problem, reset the printer.

Mac

  • For Mac users, choose the apple menu icon, and then choose System Preferences. Select Printers and Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax. In the Printers and Scanners window, go through the list of devices on the left side.
  • You must be able to find only one printer queue name in the list for each printer connected to the computer. If you spot more than one printer name, remove all extra printers by choosing them and select the minus button at the bottom of the list. Keep one printer in the list that matches OfficeJet 2620. If this does not resolve the problem, reset the printer.

Reset the printer

  • If this does not work reset the printer. After switching on the printer, wait for it to go inactive and quiet. Remove the power cord from the back of the printer then detach the other end of the cord from the wall outlet.
  • After one minute, fix the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet. The printer should automatically turn on. If not, switch on the printer. Once the printer finishes warming up, attempt printing.
