  • After updating the software, try to print the document. If the issue persists, then try to print from another software or Android device. We will be able to route the exact issue by doing the same.

Slow Printing

The printer speed might suddenly reduce and it will not meet the speed provided in the printer specifications. There are various reasons as to why this would happen. The below troubleshooting can be followed to fix the issue.

Windows

  • Turn the printer on and wait until the printer is idle before you continue. Disconnect the power cord from the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait for a minute and then reconnect the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Plug the power cord to the rear of the printer. The printer will turn on and might go through a warm-up period. If it does not automatically turn on, then press the Power button to turn on the device. On your computer, open Devices and printers.
  • Double-click your printer icon and select Set Preferences. Check if Plain Paper is selected as the Paper Type. Make sure Draft or Normal is selected in the Quality Settings area. Click Ok to confirm the changes and close the Devices and Printers window.
  • On your computer, search for Programs and Features. A list of installed programs will be displayed, choose your printer’s name and then click Uninstall. Follow the on-screen prompts and complete the software removal. Restart your computer and reinstall the updated driver.

Mac

  • Turn on your printer and wait until the device becomes idle before you continue. Unplug the power cable from the printer. Disconnect the power cable from the power source. Wait for few minutes and then reconnect the power cable back into the Power source.
  • Plug the power cable to the rear of the printer. The printer will turn on and might go through a warm-up period. If the device does not automatically turn on, then press the Power switch to turn it on. On your Mac, open the document you want to print.
  • Click File and then select Print. Choose your printer from the list of available printers. Click Show Details if there are no options on the Print dialog box. Click Paper Type/Quality and then select Normal or Draft from the Print Quality menu.
  • Click Finder and in the menu bar select Applications. Open the HP folder and double-click the HP Uninstaller. Follow the on-screen prompts to remove the HP software from your computer. Reboot your system and then reinstall the software from our website.

‘Paper Jam’ Error

Turn off your printer, disconnect the power cord and remove all paper from the printer. Use a soft clean cloth lightly moistened with water to clean the printer parts.

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and look into the printer. You will find four small metal pressure rollers that ride on the main feed roller. Make sure that there are no labels or paper debris stuck on these rollers.
  • Close the cartridge access door and reconnect the power cord. Load the input tray with paper. The paper tray should be fully pushed into the printer. The paper tray is spring loaded. If it cannot seat in fully, the spring may have come loose or paper may be holding it back.
  • Make sure the rear access door in the back is locked properly and slide the paper-width adjuster against the left side of the paper stack. Push the paper supply tray in all the way. Verify that the paper used meets the paper-handling specifications.
  • Check the paper path, clean the input and output tray. Make sure there is no paper debris or packaging material stuck inside the printer. Reset the printer settings and then try to print a test document.
