HP ENVY 5660 Printers – First Time Printer Setup

Printers always play a pivotal part everywhere in today’s fast-paced world. Whether you run an office business or start up a home business, you will always have the need for printed documents and photos. Read and perform the steps to guide you to complete the printer setup for the first time. Step 1 : Unpack the printer

The primary step is to unpack the printer; take out the printer from its box and then remove all the packing materials.

  • Take out the 123.HP.Com Envy5660 printer from its box
  • Remove the tapes and packing materials in and around the printer.
  • Open the scanner lid; uncover the tapes and stickers on the scanner glass and close the lid.
  • Open the cartridge access door, remove the packed materials in the cartridge slot and close the cartridge access door.
  • Clear the packing materials from both the input and the output tray.
  • Take away the packing materials from inside the paper tray.

Step 4 : Connect the power cord and set your preferences

To complete the initial setup of your 123.HP.Com Envy5660 printer, plug one end of the power cable to the printer’s rear and the other end of the cable into a power socket; turn on the printer and then set the basic preferences.

  • Use the power button on the printer to turn it on.
  • On the printer’s control panel, set the basic preferences you want and then touch Continueto confirm your choice.

Step 5 : Install the cartridges

  • Place your fingers in the cartridge slot and then open the cartridge access door by lifting up the handle. The Door Openscreen is displayed on the control panel of your printer prompted with the message ‘The cover or door must be closed to print. Check that it is completely closed.’
  • Remove the cartridge that you want to use from its package. Do not touch the black plastic on the cartridge.
  • Pull the orange tab to take away the protective tape. Avoid touching the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles and do not replace the protective tape that is present on the contacts. Holding these parts may lead to clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.
  • Open the cartridge door and then insert the new cartridge into its corresponding slot.
  • Insert the tri-color cartridge into the left side slot and then insert the black cartridge into the right side slot.
  • For further installation of cartridges, read the above steps and follow accordingly.
  • After installing the cartridges into its slot, close the cartridge access door. When the door is shut completely, the Door Openscreen with the message ‘The cover or door must be closed to print. Check that it is completely closed.’ will no longer appear and the printer returns to the Home screen.
  • Then, touch OK.
  • Stay up for the printer to regulate and align the cartridges. Once the alignment is done, the printer starts to print an alignment page.
  • If the alignment page does not print, complete the alignment process by following the steps accordingly.
  • Ensure that you have loaded a plain white paper into the paper tray.
  • On the printer’s control panel, touch the Setup icon.
  • Select Printer Maintenance, and then touch Align Printer.
  • Complete the alignment process by following the prompts on the control panel screen.
  • Follow the instructions on the control panel to complete the alignment process. Once the alignment is done, the printer starts to print an alignment page
  • Touch OK, and then remove or recycle the alignment page.

‘Printer Offline’ or ‘Printer Not Responding’ Message – Mac

Step 1 : Check connection between the printer and the Mac
