HP Envy 120 Ink Cartridge Replacement
Step 1: The first thing to do is turn the printer on, so press the Power button.
Step 2: Open the cartridge access door. The carriage will move to the center of the printer.
Step 3: When the carriage stops moving, lightly press down on the cartridge you want to replace to release it.
Step 4: Pull the cartridge out to remove it from the slot. Now, take the new cartridge out of its package.
Step 5: Pull the plastic tab to remove it. When handling the cartridges, be aware of the electrical contacts and ink nozzles.
Step 6: Make sure that you do not touch the contacts and nozzles. Touching the nozzles and contacts can cause clogs, ink failure and poor electrical connections.
Step 7: Make sure you install the replacement cartridge in its correct slot. Tri-color on the left and black on the right.
Step 8: The cartridge should be held by its sides with the nozzles facing downward, slide it directly into the correct open slot.
Step 9: Push the cartridge forward into the slot until it snaps into place. When the cartridge is in, close the cartridge access door of the printer. Load paper into the input tray and wait 30 seconds for the alignment page to automatically print.
Step 10: The printer is now ready for regular use.
How to Fix Ink Cartridge Issues
Step 1: Check if the cartridges are in the correct position. The color cartridge should be placed on the left and the black cartridge on the right.
Step 2: Check ink cartridge codes for compatibility. Make sure that the cartridges used are compatible with your printer.
Step 3: Check the estimated ink level. Replace any cartridge that is low or out of ink, with genuine HP ink cartridges.
Step 4: Open the cartridge access door and push down the cartridge you need to replace. Reinstall a new cartridge and close the cartridge access door.
Step 5: Check and wipe the cartridge contacts. Use a damp lint-free cloth to wipe the cartridge contacts.
p class=”paraa”>Step 6: Wipe contacts inside the printer. Use a tissue and wipe the electrical contacts inside the printer.
Step 7: Clean the printhead. Remove the printhead from the printer and clean it with a paper towel.
Step 8: The printhead can also be soaked in warm water. Remove the printhead and wipe it well with a paper towel.
Step 9: Check the inside of the printer for ink smears and wipe them using a damp lint-free cloth.
Step 10: Reset the printer. Disconnect the power cord from the printer when the printer is turned on.
Step 11: Wait for 10 minutes and reconnect the power cord. Turn on the printer and print a test page.
