Installation of HP Printer Driver and Software

Printer software can be installed in two ways- either through downloading the self-guided software from our website or with the help of printer installation CD.

Wi-Fi Direct Printer Setup

Using the Add a Device Wizard on a Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 computer to in a Wi-Fi Direct printer.

  • Make sure the printer driver is installed and up-to-date on the computer.
  • On the printer’s control panel, touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon.
  • Search for Devices in Windows. In the list of results, select Devices and Printers.
  • On the Devices and Printers window, click Add Printer.
  • Select Direct HP Deskjet 5810 from the list of printers and then, click Next.
  • Enter the PIN code in the Add a Device Wizard when prompted on your computer. To complete the setup, click Next.

Step 1 : Check the requirements

  • Make sure the HP printer and your mobile device meet the following requirements:
  • An Android OS 4.4 device or later, or an Apple iOS 9 or later.
  • Make sure your mobile device is connected to your wireless network.
  • If you cannot connect your printer to a network, you can print directly to the printer with Wi-Fi Direct.

Step 2 : Install the HP AiO Printer Remote app

  • Open a web browser on your mobile device, and then go to our website.
  • On the web page, tap Google Play or App Store, and then tap Install or Get.
  • Open the app after the installation completes, and then tap Start.
  • The app automatically selects your printer if the printer is already setup and connected to your wireless network.

  • Android mobile devices:
  • On the app home screen, tap Select a Different Printer or Select a Printer, to view available printers.
  • If your printer is not listed, tap My printer is not listed and tap Help Search for a Network Printer.

  • To identify your printer, tap Select a Different Printer on the app home screen and then follow the on-screen prompts.
  • If you want to setup a new printer on a network, follow the on-screen instructions to continue the setup.

  • To view the available printers, tap Select a Different Printer or Select a Printer on the app home screen.
  • If the printer is not listed, tap My printer is not listed and tap Help Set Up a New Printer.
  • Apple iOS devices:
  • On the app home screen, tap Add a New Printer.

Step 3 : Print or scan documents and photos

Print a document or photo

  • On your mobile device, open the AiO Remote app and tap Print Documents or Print Photos.
  • Select the desired file from your mobile device and select the item that you want to print.
  • With the help of the app editing tools, make necessary changes to the item on the preview screen.
  • Now tap Print.

Scan a document or photo from the HP printer

  • On the scanner glass place the item that you want to print according to the guides on the printer.
  • On your mobile device open the AiO Remote app and tap Scan, Scan to Email, or Scan to Cloud.
  • On the scan screen, tap the Settings icon to select the Input Source for the scan.
  • Then, tap Done or Save.
  • Tap Send, Save, Share, or Print when the scan is complete.

Scan a document or photo with your mobile device camera

  • Select a document or photo to scan from your mobile device and open the AiO Remote app.
  • Choose your mobile device and select the type of scan you want.
  • To scan from Android devices tap Camera Scan to Email, or Camera Scan to Cloud, or Document Capture or the Camera icon.
  • To scan from Apple iOS devices tap Scan to Email or Scan to Cloud, and then tap the Camera option or the Scan
  • Take a picture of the document or photo on your mobile device.
  • Take a picture from your Android device and confirm the scan by placing a finger on one of the blue dots to adjust the border manually.
  • On your Apple iOS device select Auto or Manual mode when the camera opens. For one or more documents, manual mode is the best.
  • Tap Send, Save, Share, or Print when the scan is complete.

Step 4 : Check ink levels, order supplies, and access printer settings, information, and reports

Android devices

  • Tap the printer information icon on the AiO Remote app home screen.
  • Tap Supported Cartridges to identify which ink cartridges work with your HP printer and to order ink cartridge, tap Buy Now.
  • Tap Go to HP Instant Ink if you have enrolled your printer in HP Instant Ink.
  • To access the printer information, tap your 123.HP.Com dj5810 printer or the printer information icon.
  • To view or modify the printer settings tap Printer Reports.
  • To print the Printer Status Report, Network Configuration Page, Print Quality Diagnostic Report, and other reports tap Printer Reports.
  • To view the printer status, printer name, serial number, and firmware version, tap Printer Settings or Printer Information.
  • To set the energy save mode or to check the status of the network, and configure network settings, tap Advanced Settings.

Apple iOS devices

  • Tap the printer information icon on the AiO Remote app home screen.

Step 5 : Personalize the home screen (optional)

Rearrange the tiles: On the home screen, press and hold the tile you want to move. Drag the selected tile to the desired location.

Turn off or on tiles: Tap the Personalize tile, and then tap the On/Off toggle on the items you want to add or remove from the home screen. To save the changes, tap Done.

Mobile Printer Setup fails in Android device

This document instructs you to troubleshoot issues when you use the 123.HP.Com dj5810 All-in-One Printer Remote app on your Android device to setup the printer on your Wi-Fi network.

Step 1 : Refresh the printer list in AiO Remote app

  • On your mobile device open the AiO Remote app and tap the printer icon to display the list of printers available.
  • Tap the refresh icon to reload the available printers in the network.
  • If your 123.HP.Com dj5810 printer is listed, the printer setup is complete and you can stop troubleshooting.
  • If your printer is not listed, turn off your HP printer and wait for 60 seconds. Wait till the printer is idle and silent. On your mobile device open the AiO Remote app and refresh the printer list again.
  • If the mobile setup error still persists, continue to the next step.

Step 3 : Setup your HP printer with AiO Remote app again

  • If your printer is listed with HP-Setup -> HP DeskJet 5810 under the printer list, select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer.
  • If your printer is not listed, on your mobile device tap My printer is not listed, tap Help Set Up a New Printer and then follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer.
  • If the mobile setup error still persists, continue to the next step.

Step 2 : Check wireless network and printer status

  • Open the Wi-Fi settings on your Android device and make sure your device is connected to the wireless network you want to connect the printer to.
  • Check if the printer is ready for the network setup and select the network connection type.
  • Make sure that Wireless is enabled on the printer. Check if the light next to Wireless icon is on.
  • Make sure the Ethernet cable connects both the printer and the router. Make sure the green light is steady and the orange activity light is blinking when the cable is connected.
  • HP printers support both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz frequency bands but not the 123.HP.Com dj5810 printers. Make sure the 2.4 GHz router band is enabled and broadcasting.
  • Make sure the Smart network switch option is turned off in the Wi-Fi settings or Advanced menu on Samsung devices.
  • Make sure the printer is turned on and ready for wireless printer setup.
  • Turn off the multiple printers connected to your network.
  • If the mobile setup error still persists, continue to the next step.

Step 4 : Connect your printer to the network

  • Gather the network SSID and network passphrase (WEP key and WPA password). Make sure the mobile device is connected to your wireless network.
  • Disconnect the USB or Ethernet cables from the printer, if connected.
  • Select the Setup, Network or Wireless menu on the printer’s control panel.
  • From the Wireless menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to the network.
  • If your HP printer connects to the network, open the AiO Remote app your mobile device and open and refresh the printer list again. Select your 123.HP.Com dj5810 printer from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Wireless printers without a control panel display

  • Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer’s control panel for two or more seconds, and then release the button when the wireless light starts blinking.
  • On your wireless router press and hold the WPS button for up to 5 seconds.
  • The printer automatically establishes a network connection with your wireless network.
  • If your HP 5810 printer connects to the network, open the AiO Remote app your mobile device open and refresh the printer list again. Select your printer from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
