How to install HP ojpro 8630 Printer

  • Unpack the printer from the box. Peel all tape and detach packing material from the exterior of the printer. Peel the sticker on the control panel display.
  • Put your fingers into the slot on the left side of the printer, and then lift to open the ink cartridge access door. Peel all tapes and detach packing material from the inside of the printer. Shut the ink cartridge access door.
  • Once the printer is unboxed, install the duplexer. Unpack the duplexer and peel any tape from the duplexer. Place the printer so that the rear faces you.
  • Grab the duplexer by its sides with the rollers facing the printer, place it into the slot in the back of the printer, and then press the duplexer into the printer until it snaps into position.
  • Tray 2 is an optional accessory. Unpack Tray 2 from its box, detach any packing material and peel any tapes from the tray. Place the tray on a flat, level surface where you intend to fix the printer.

  • To install ink cartridges, put your fingers into the slot on the left side of the printer, and then lift the ink cartridge access door. Unpack the ink cartridges from their box.
  • Once the printer is inactive and quiet, hold the ink cartridge by its side with the nozzles facing the printer, place the ink cartridge into its slot, and then press the ink cartridge forward until it snaps into position.
  • Repeat these steps to install all the cartridges. Shut the ink cartridge access door. Once the printer aligns the ink cartridges, it will print an alignment page. Install the printer driver and software to complete the installation.

Paper Jam Error

  • Get rid of any paper that is not jammed. Push the power button to switch on the printer. Wait till the printer is inactive and quiet. With the printer powered up, detach the power cord from the back of the printer and then detach the power cord from the power source. Detach the USB or Ethernet cable from the back of the printer, if you have a cable connection to the printer.
  • Switch on the printer so that the back of the printer faces you. Press in the buttons on both sides of the duplexer and then draw out to remove the duplexer.

  • If no jammed paper is visible in the rear access area, push the tabs on both sides of the duplexer, and then close the cover. Take out any jammed paper from inside the duplexer.
  • With the duplexer open, examine the rollers. If the rollers are missing or damaged, replace the roller. A faulty roller might cause the paper to jam. Shut the duplexer cover, and then insert the duplexer back in into the rear access area of the printer. Thrust the duplexer until it snaps into place.
  • To check the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), raise the ADF cover. Lift the tab positioned on the left edge of the ADF to lift the ADF mechanism . Press the green tab positioned in the center of the ADF.
  • Remove any jammed paper form the ADF. Employ both hands to pull out the paper. Lift the green tab to set it back in place. Shut the ADF cover firmly at both ends.
